What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file that can be placed on your device that allows us to recognise and remember you. It is sent to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive or tablet or mobile device. When you visit ISERVICES site, we or a third party service may collect information from you automatically through cookies.

How do we use cookies?

We use cookies only to understanding how you use our site and measure the number of visitors to the site. We do not use tags and pixels and we do not track you in order to display advertising.

Cookies that are used by the ISERVICES site are referred to as “first-party cookies” and those that are used by our partners (Google Analytics) are “third-party cookies”. Because of how cookies work, our website cannot access third-party cookies; nor can other organisations access the data in the cookies we use on our website.

Broadly, there are two main types of cookies:

  • Persistent cookies that remain on your device until deleted manually or they expire at a set date and time.
  • Session cookies remain on your device until you close your browser when they are automatically deleted.

What types of cookies do we use?

We use third-party cookies provided by Google Analytics to help with performance - cookies which measure how often you visit our site and how you use it. We use this information to get a better sense of how you engage with our site. The Google Analytics cookies gives us information such as your journey between pages, which of our pages are most frequently visited, and by which types of users.

We use the following Google Analytics cookies on our sites:

Cookie name Expiration time Description
_ga 2 years used to distinguish visitors by Google Analytics
_gid 24 hours used to distinguish visitors by Google Analytics
_gat 1 minute used to throttle request rate by Google Analytics

For more information on how Google Analytics collects and processes data, see:
Google's Privacy & Terms
Safeguarding your data

Additional we have implemented GDPR-compliant IP anonymization in Google Analytics. This function will delete the last octet of IPv4 user IP addresses and the last 80 bits of IPv6 addresses to zeros in memory shortly after being sent to the Analytics Collection Network. The full IP address is never written to disk.

You can check whether the IP anonymization in Google Analytics has been successful using the Developer Console of your browser. The tracking request parameter has to contain “aip=1“.

We do not share online data collected through the Google Analytics cookie and we do not have online retargeting advertising enabled on our site.

How to manage cookies

You can opt out of Google Analytics

You can manage the use of cookie, including Google Analytics cookies, and disable the sharing of data with Google by changing your browser’s cookie settings.
